AesthetiClinic launches flat-fee clinic platform for UK aesthetics
AesthetiClinic, a Belfast-based clinic management startup, has launched a practice software platform aimed squarely at independent aesthetic practitioners in the UK and Ireland. The platform consolidates online booking, card-protected deposits, digital consent forms, treatment records and patient messaging into a single system, priced at a flat £25 plus VAT per practitioner per month with no commission on patient deposits.
The launch targets a fragmented operational reality that many independent clinics still navigate: a patchwork of booking apps, paper consent forms and spreadsheets, layered with platform fees that compound on top of each other. Crucially, deposits taken through AesthetiClinic pass directly into the clinic's own Stripe account, bypassing any intermediary take beyond Stripe's standard card-processing charge.
A different commercial model
The pricing architecture is the clearest statement of intent. Founder Connor McAuley argues that prevailing platforms double-charge practitioners: a monthly licence fee, then a percentage cut of every deposit. "The clinic owners I speak to are paying a monthly fee, then a cut of every deposit on top of it, and when they ask for their own data back they're handed a bill for extracting it," McAuley said. "That's their money and their patients' records. So we built it the other way round."
The platform includes versioned medico-legal consent forms with signatures locked to the exact document version the patient signed, an audit trail across all patient records, automated messaging for reminders and aftercare, and a public API for clinics that run bespoke tooling alongside it. SMS messaging is charged separately at 7p plus VAT per message in prepaid bundles; email reminders are included. Clinics moving from a rival system receive a managed migration, with AesthetiClinic running both the old and new systems in parallel until the clinic chooses a cut-over date.
A 14-day free trial is available without requiring a card on sign-up, lowering the barrier to adoption for cash-conscious independent operators.
Wellbeing tech meets practice-management software
The broader context for this launch sits at the intersection of two converging forces in the wellbeing and healthtech space. First, the UK aesthetics sector has expanded rapidly over the past decade and remains, in its independent practitioner segment, notably under-digitised relative to mainstream primary care or dental practice management. Second, the regulatory environment is tightening: the Health and Care Act 2022 introduced licensing requirements for non-surgical procedures in England, placing greater weight on documented consent, versioned records and audit trails. Software that bakes compliance into the booking workflow is increasingly a necessity rather than a nice-to-have.
For investors watching the vertical SaaS wave that swept dental, optometry and veterinary practice management, the independent aesthetics segment represents a comparable opportunity: high practitioner fragmentation, low current software penetration, and regulatory tailwinds that reward platforms designed around medico-legal rigour. AesthetiClinic enters that space with a deliberately simple commercial model, betting that zero-commission deposit handling and data portability will be decisive switching triggers for practitioners locked into incumbent platforms.
Whether a Belfast startup with a single pricing tier can scale that narrative against better-capitalised competitors remains the open question. The public API is a notable signal: it positions AesthetiClinic as infrastructure rather than a closed system, which may matter to the larger group practices the platform will need to attract as it grows beyond its independent-clinic base.
