EverCommerce reshuffles leadership to reboot SMB software growth
EverCommerce (NASDAQ: EVCM), the Denver-based software platform serving more than 745,000 small and medium-sized businesses across home services, healthcare and wellness, has announced a sweeping leadership overhaul as it seeks to reignite revenue growth following what the company describes as a period of strategic consolidation.
The changes see three external appointments made directly to chief executive Alex Goor: Andrew Hausman as President of EverPro (the company's home and field services division), Chris Rogers as Chief Technology Officer, and Gim Lau as Chief Strategy Officer. Simultaneously, two long-serving architects of the company's growth are departing: Matt Feierstein, who steered EverCommerce through more than 50 acquisitions and its 2021 IPO, and Evan Berlin, who joined the predecessor business PaySimple in 2008 and most recently led EverHealth.
New blood, old playbook
Hausman arrives with a pedigree in SaaS and SMB-facing businesses, having held senior roles at Dun & Bradstreet, Interactive Data and Thomson Reuters. His brief at EverPro is to sharpen commercial execution in a market where independent tradespeople and field-service operators are increasingly choosing all-in-one scheduling, payments and CRM platforms over legacy point solutions.
Rogers brings a more eclectic profile: former CTO of financial-markets firm Instinet, founder of a software platform later adopted by Nasdaq, and a holder of a recent NYU master's in data science. His work applying machine learning to satellite imagery for the non-profit GRID3 underlines a hands-on technical versatility that EverCommerce will likely leverage as it deepens AI-driven workflow automation across its three vertical brands.
Lau, as Chief Strategy Officer, will oversee capital allocation and portfolio prioritisation across EverCommerce's multi-brand structure, a role that signals the company is moving beyond its acquisition-heavy growth phase toward sharper organic investment choices.
Brian Caulfield, currently Chief Revenue Officer of EverHealth, will lead that division on an interim basis while a permanent president is recruited.
The SMB software battleground
The broader context matters for cross-sector investors. The vertical-SaaS market for service SMBs has become intensely competitive, with players ranging from Jobber and ServiceTitan in field services to Mindbody and Jane App in wellness all chasing the same base of time-poor operators. EverCommerce's three-brand architecture gives it breadth, but breadth without execution discipline has historically produced margin drag. The simultaneous departure of two presidents and a CEO-level figure at EverHealth is a significant reset, not a routine refresh.
For capital allocators watching the mid-cap SaaS cohort, the question is whether the new leadership trio can convert EverCommerce's installed base of 745,000 customers into a higher-revenue-per-seat story. AI-assisted workflow automation is the obvious lever: Goor's public framing consistently positions the platform's value around reducing administrative burden, and Rogers' data-science background suggests the AI product roadmap will be a priority. The company has not disclosed specific revenue targets or margin timelines associated with the transition.
The departure of Feierstein, who was present from the PaySimple era through the IPO and the acquisition roll-up, removes one of the few executives with institutional memory of every deal in the portfolio. That is a meaningful governance consideration for investors assessing integration risk across a business built substantially through M&A. Whether the new leadership cohort can reaccelerate organic revenue growth, rather than simply manage an inherited portfolio, will be the defining test over the next two to four quarters.
"Andrew, Chris and Gim each bring different but complementary capabilities that are important to where we are taking EverCommerce," said Goor. Together, he added, they strengthen the company's ability to "invest in the right opportunities and drive sustainable growth."
