Purple Group launches Hello Purple fintech infra platform
Purple Group, the founder-led fintech ecosystem spanning venture capital, payments infrastructure and trading technology, has launched Hello Purple, a new platform designed to give external founders and businesses access to the same financial infrastructure the group has built across its own portfolio.
The announcement positions Hello Purple as a response to a structural problem in fintech: while software development tooling has matured rapidly, the underlying financial rails required to actually launch a product, covering payments integrations, trading capabilities, embedded financial services and regulatory compliance, remain fragmented, expensive and slow to navigate. The platform bundles those capabilities into a single access point, effectively externalising what Purple Group has built for internal use.
Democratising financial infrastructure
Jan Cervinka, CEO of Purple Technology, framed the launch around an access gap rather than a technology one. "Building great software is no longer the hardest part of creating a fintech company," he said. "The real challenge lies in infrastructure and access to financial capabilities, which is why we built Hello Purple to solve that problem and to give founders, businesses and creators access to the same tools and infrastructure that previously only large financial institutions could access."
That framing echoes a broader structural shift underway across financial services. The costs of obtaining e-money licences, building or acquiring payment-processing relationships, and maintaining compliant trading infrastructure have historically created a moat around large incumbents. Platforms that abstract those costs, whether through Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) models, embedded-finance APIs, or, as here, an integrated ecosystem play, are compressing that moat. Competitors operating in adjacent spaces include the likes of Railsr, Solaris and Griffin in Europe, though Purple Group's angle of drawing on a live, self-owned portfolio rather than white-labelled third-party rails is a meaningful differentiator in how it positions its credibility.
Agentic finance as a publishing and product strategy
Alongside the technical platform, Hello Purple is launching a series of Reports covering the emerging field of agentic finance: examining the tools builders use, publishing case studies from products built on the infrastructure, and tracking ecosystem development. This dual positioning, part infrastructure provider, part editorial intelligence layer, is notable. It signals that Purple Group views agentic AI not simply as a product feature to be bolted on, but as a structural force reshaping how fintech founders will make decisions and allocate development resources.
That read-across matters beyond the fintech sector. Agentic finance, where AI systems execute multi-step financial workflows autonomously, sits at the intersection of AI infrastructure, regulatory compliance and financial risk management. For capital allocators watching both the AI infrastructure buildout and the next wave of embedded-finance consolidation, platforms that position themselves as the connective tissue between agentic tooling and licensed financial rails represent a convergence bet. The question for investors is whether the venture ecosystem will treat infrastructure-as-a-service plays of this kind as fintech assets, AI-infrastructure assets, or something in between. That classification question will increasingly drive valuation methodology as the two sectors blur.
Hello Purple's launch marks a step-change in Purple Group's publicly stated strategy: from building a portfolio of fintech businesses to becoming the underlying platform that third-party fintech businesses build on. The commercial model has not been publicly disclosed, but the pivot from internal infrastructure to external platform typically implies a shift toward recurring revenue, which carries different capital-efficiency dynamics and exit optionality than a portfolio holding company. Whether the ecosystem can attract enough high-quality founders to validate that thesis remains to be seen.
