SQD brings validated blockchain data to Google Cloud's BigQuery
SQD, the Zug-based blockchain data infrastructure company, has formalised a partnership with Google Cloud to supply the indexing and data pipelines underpinning Google Cloud's Web3 Blockchain Analytics product. Delivered through SQD 360, the company's enterprise arm, the deal places SQD's validated data standard at the heart of BigQuery, Google Cloud's serverless data warehouse. The move is less a product launch than an infrastructure credentialling: a Web3-native data provider earning a slot inside one of the world's most widely deployed enterprise analytics platforms.
The technical substance matters here. SQD says it validates every block against six cryptographic checks, covering multi-source verification, transaction roots, and state roots, before data is surfaced to analysts. That verification layer is the differentiator SQD is marketing to enterprises that cannot tolerate the data-quality ambiguities common in raw on-chain feeds. Across more than 225 blockchain networks, SQD delivers what it describes as a single streaming API giving applications, institutions, and AI agents a consistent view of on-chain activity. Deutsche Telekom is among its named production customers, which provides some grounding for the enterprise-readiness claim.
Why Google Cloud, why now
Google Cloud's decision to bring an external provider into its blockchain analytics stack reflects a broader pattern in enterprise cloud strategy: rather than building deep domain expertise in-house for every emerging data category, hyperscalers are selectively partnering with specialist infrastructure layers and surfacing the result through their existing tooling. For Google, the prize is BigQuery stickiness: the more data types analysts can query natively inside BigQuery, the harder it becomes to migrate workloads to competing platforms.
For SQD, the commercial logic is distribution at scale. The company's challenge has never been the quality of its data pipelines; it has been convincing risk-averse enterprise buyers to integrate an unfamiliar vendor. A Google Cloud partnership dissolves much of that procurement friction. Wanja Oberhof, CEO of Subsquid Labs, framed it plainly: "Bringing that standard to a platform like Google Cloud Web3 Blockchain Analytics is a meaningful step toward making blockchain analytics usable at enterprise scale."
The convergence read-across
The broader significance sits at the intersection of blockchain data infrastructure and the emerging agentic AI economy. SQD's roadmap explicitly flags "agentic enhancement" as a near-term addition, a reference to feeding validated on-chain data to AI agents that execute financial or operational decisions autonomously. That convergence point, reliable, machine-readable, provable blockchain data as a substrate for autonomous agents, is where the commercial stakes escalate well beyond analytics tooling.
For macro investors tracking the Web3 infrastructure stack, the Google Cloud validation also reframes the funding landscape. Early blockchain infrastructure rounds were dominated by crypto-native VCs and protocol treasuries. The tier of enterprise credibility that a Google Cloud partnership confers is more likely to attract infrastructure-focused institutional capital, the kind of allocators who back data-plumbing businesses on recurring-revenue multiples rather than token-price speculation. Whether SQD moves toward a funding round on the back of this partnership is unconfirmed, but the strategic positioning is deliberate.
The roadmap promise of expanded chain coverage and agentic capabilities suggests SQD is building toward a position as a universal on-chain data layer, the kind of critical infrastructure that, if it succeeds, will be as invisible and as indispensable as a financial data feed.
